Administration for Community Living

Description

The Administrator of the Administration for Community Living establishes a priority for the funding of a National Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Model System Centers Program. The TBI Model System Centers must provide comprehensive, multidisciplinary services to individuals with traumatic brain injury and conduct research that contributes to evidence-based rehabilitation interventions and clinical and practice guidelines. The TBI Model System Centers must generate new knowledge that can be used to improve outcomes of individuals with traumatic brain injury in one or more of the domains identified. Under this particular DRRP priority, applicants must propose research that contributes to the development of evidence-based traumatic brain injury rehabilitation practices through the advancement of science at any stage of research; and can be used to improve outcomes of individuals with TBI in one or more domains identified in NIDILRR's Long Range Plan for Fiscal Years 2013-2017 (78 FR 20299) . These domains are: (1) health and function, (2) community living and participation, and (3) employment.
