The Missing and Exploited Children's Training and Technical Assistance (MEC TTA) Program provides assistance to prosecutors, state and local law enforcement and child protection personnel, medical providers, and other child-serving professionals to strengthen multidisciplinary responses to and improve prosecution of child victimization cases. OJJDP funds the MEC TTA Program to build the capacity of state and local agencies and to encourage the development and implementation of best practices related to the investigation and prosecution of cases of missing and exploited children. The successful applicant will address unmet needs within missing and exploited children's programming through the development and distribution of strategic training and technical assistance. In collaboration with OJJDP, the successful applicant will conduct an analysis of existing training offerings and national needs, with particular emphasis on underserved (rural and more isolated communities) and unserved jurisdictions. Based on the development of a strategic training and technical assistance plan that OJJDP will approve, the successful applicant will develop Webinars, publications and resources, in-person training, distance learning, and jurisdiction-specific technical assistance. The grantee will work in partnership with leading experts and key organizational stakeholders.
