Bureau of Reclamation

Description

Reclamation is partnering with the RAND Corporation to undertake an exploration of Decision Making Under Deep Uncertainty (DMDU) methods for use in water management and planning. DMDU provides a methodology for developing and analyzing large ensembles of simulations. This effort will be conducted in close coordination with Reclamation’s Policy Office through the West Wide Climate Risk Assessments (WWCRA). The goal is to evaluate the applicability of DMDU methods in a water planning and management context and to develop tools based on those with strong potential for use by Reclamation and other agencies or stakeholders with similar missions and challenges.
