Description

This project will provide funding for the purpose of executing projects and activities that strengthen CITES implementation in Southeast Asia, with particular emphasis on those that further development and adoption of national legislation, implement National Ivory Action Plans (NIAPs), and carryout decisions and resolutions adopted by the 17th meeting of the Conference of the Parties (CoP17). Authorizing statues include National Strategy for Combating Wildlife Trafficking; Executive Order 13648; July 5, 2013; Implementation Plan of the National Strategy for Combating Wildlife Trafficking; February 11, 2014; Endangered Species Act of 1973, as amended (16 U.S.C. 1531-43).
