BLM Wyoming seeks to foster a cooperative partnership to accomplish a study that is needed in the Rawlins, WY resource area to identify how wind farm development would impact sage-grouse and what changes these facilities represent to the birds and their habitat. While a before-after control-impact study may prove useful. It would also be beneficial to identify sage grouse response to existing facilities. These facilities need not be on public surface yet BLM administered lands may serve as an excellent control if habitat and populations prove to be adequate as a control for such a study to attempt to answer these questions.
