Description

Perform research and studies pertaining to wildland fire and resource management, to develop products and tools for all levels of decision making to meet the objectives of the National Fire Plan, and to seek information to improve decision making in wildland fire management. Specifically, meteorological forecasts using Penn State/National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) mesoscale Model 5 (http://cansac.dri.edu/coffframe.php?page=MM5setup.php), the Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) Model (http://cansac.dri.edu/coffframe.php?page=WRFsetup.php) and other advanced experimental models. As additional funds are added to the agreement model development may be pursued.
