Description

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Fort Collins Science Center (FORT) is offering a funding opportunity to a CESU partner for research to support the development of spatially and demographic models for wildlife populations associated with sagebrush, alpine, and grassland ecosystems, focused primarily in Colorado and Wyoming, but also across western North America. Specifically, to understand the effects of energy development, climate change, and grazing (livestock) and browsing (elk) on the conservation and management of these ecosystems, and how changes to these systems ultimately impact important wildlife species of conservation concern, such as sage-grouse (sagebrush ecosystem), white-tailed ptarmigan (alpine ecosystem) and songbirds (grassland, sagebrush, and alpine ecosystems).
