Description

This is an announcement for issuing a single source financial assistance award to Ducks Unlimited, Inc. in Memphis Tennessee, Maryland Field Office. This announcement is for notification purposes only. The intent of the award is to restore a 60 acre former agricultural area at Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge, Dorchester County, Maryland back to a freshwater impoundment. Restoration activities will include completing the existing exterior berm network, re-grading the interior impoundment topography, filling unnecessary ditches, and installing water control structures to enable wetland management. These activities will restore wetland function to approximately 38 acres while enhancing management capabilities at the remainder of the site.
