NOTICE OF INTENT â¿¿ This Funding Announcement is not a request for applications. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) intends, on behalf of the Southeast Refuges Complex, to issue funding to support a baseline comprehensive survey of the freshwater mussels on Bogue Chitto National Wildlife Refuge (BCNWR) will also include all freshwater mussel species found at the river or slough level, adequately describing the species assemblage across the refugeâ¿¿s major waterways. Historic freshwater mussel surveys on nearby, connected waterways have been conducted, but records on the refuge are limited. The focus of this baseline inventory is to describe the distribution of freshwater mussels within all representative waters within Louisianaâ¿¿s borders on the refuge.
