Description

Through this Task Agreement, CL will create, fill, administer, and support one position to work a total of 26 weeks in support of park and regional office projects and programming throughout the NPS, National Capital Region (Maryland, Virginia, Washington, D.C., and West Virginia). The position of communications fellow will provide high-quality exposure to the kinds of professional work performed by NPS and other public lands agencies. The National Park Service manages public lands for public enjoyment, while protecting the natural, cultural, and historic features for future generations. The Washington, D.C. area is populous and diverse, and many national parks are as vital to the local communities as they are important to our national heritage. The communications fellow will work closely with the National Capital Region’s Communications Office and will be responsible for ensuring that park staff research, write, and disseminate a broad range of communication products from web and social media content to news releases, remarks, talking points, and strategic communication plans that showcase NPS stories and mission-related messages. The work of the fellow will help ensure that high-quality information is available to the public so they can learn about, enjoy and help care for national parks. This task is an ongoing and long-term project where the need for incremental funding and additional time is anticipated, but will be subject to funding availability. Subsequent requests for additional services and/or funding associated with this Task Agreement will be authorized through modification, and must receive prior approval of the Awarding Officer.
