This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) encourages applications to establish Collaborative Centers to study ethical, legal and societal issues (ELSI) of human genome and environmental health research across the African continent. Of particular interest are projects that propose bioethical, legal, and social science analyses of new or emerging issues that affect multiple communities across the continent of Africa. These awards will support 3-5 collaborating research projects at three or more African institutions working together as a partnership to accomplish more than each project could accomplish on its own.
