Description

The purpose of this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is to stimulate collaborative research to understand the biological mechanisms of aging in dental, oral, and craniofacial (DOC) tissues, as they relate to parallel processes in other tissues and organs. The areas of emphasis under this FOA include inflammation, tissue healing and regeneration, and epigenetic regulation. The overarching long-term goal of this effort is to improve oral health in older adults by addressing knowledge gaps in our understanding of the basic biology of age-associated changes in health and disease states of DOC tissues.
