The purpose of this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is to invite applications to support institutional career development programs in urological research that will assist MDs, PhDs, and MD/PhDs with an interest in benign urological disease or urological research to develop the skills necessary to initiate and sustain an independent research career in urological research. Research areas supported by this initiative must be related to the mission of the NIDDK (http://www2.niddk.nih.gov/Research/ScientificAreas/Urology/) This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) allows appointment of Scholars proposing to serve as the lead investigator of an independent clinical trial; or proposing a separate ancillary study to an existing trial; or proposing to gain research experience in a clinical trial led by another investigator, as part of their research and career development.
