Subject to the availability of funds, USDOL’s Bureau of International Labor Affairs (ILAB) intends to award, through a competitive process, one cooperative agreement to fund a project to improve the implementation of social compliance systems that promote acceptable conditions of work and reduction of child labor and forced labor in palm oil supply chains. The project will achieve the following outcomes: 1) Strengthened capacity of private sector partner(s) in the Colombian and Ecuadorian palm oil sectors to implement a robust social compliance system; and 2) Increased understanding, at regional and global levels, of promising practices in social compliance systems in palm oil supply chains. For Outcome 1, applicants must implement the project in Colombia and Ecuador. For Outcome 2, applicants must implement the project in Colombia, Ecuador, Brazil and Peru. The Employment and Training Administration (ETA)’s Office of Grants Management anticipates publishing the Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) as soon as possible and not later than August 2018 (this timing is subject to change). This notice does not include an FOA or any attachments. It only constitutes a notice of USDOL’s intent to publish an FOA at a later date. Interested applicants are encouraged to monitor www.grants.gov for the FOA because, if an FOA is published, grants.gov is the method by which the FOA will be made available to the public. No email or paper copies of any FOA will be provided.
