Description

Notice of Intent to award a cooperative agreement to the New York State Geological Survey in support of their project entitled “Three-Dimensional Geologic Framework Mapping in Central New York”. The main objective of this project is plans to continue its three-dimensional mapping project in Central New York (CNY) in Cayuga and Tompkins Counties. Located in the heart of the Finger Lakes Region, Cayuga and Tompkins Counties have several land use concerns with potential impacts from geologic hazards and/or water resource concerns. Detailed stratigraphic drilling investigations to acquire crucial data to support three-dimensional mapping projects to investigate the geologic framework of previously undocumented bedrock channels or valleys in the Union Springs 7.5-minute quadrangle of Cayuga County and the Ithaca West, 7.5-minute quadrangle in Tompkins County will be completed.
