Description

Subject to the availability of funds, USDOL’s Bureau of International Labor Affairs (ILAB) intends to award, through a competitive process, one cooperative agreement to an organization to fund a technical assistance project in a minimum of three (3) U.S. trade partner countries over the life of the cooperative agreement to target and address gaps in supporting the governments in implementing comprehensive labor law enforcement systems. Ensuring that workplaces adhere to applicable labor laws involves multiple parties – including workers, civil society organizations, and employers – but requires the leadership of government enforcement. This FOA solicits applications to implement a project with the objective of effective government enforcement of labor laws that are consistent with relevant labor standards. Initially, the applicant will work in Honduras and Georgia, with up to $2,000,000 total costs available for Honduras and up to $1,000,000 total costs available for Georgia. Up to $4,000,000 total costs is available for other U.S. free trade agreement (FTA) and trade preference program countries, to be chosen in consultation with USDOL after award during the life of the project.
