Description

Project work will include but is not limited to hemlock woolly adelgid control using insecticides. The intern must be physically able to handle the demands of the work. Field work requires willingness to work in all types of weather conditions year round, hiking up to 8 miles a day carrying up to 40 pounds of gear on steep uneven terrain on and off trail. The interns must be comfortable navigating and hiking off trail with a GPS and back country camping in very primitive conditions. Additional duties may include exotic plant control, bat monitoring, ginseng marking or plot work, or other resource management duties as assigned. The interns must take and pass the Kentucky pesticide certification test for application of pesticides in forests. A valid driverâ¿¿s license is required.
