THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD TO A SINGLE SOURCE, AND THERE IS NO FULL ANNOUNCEMENT ASSOCIATED WITH THIS NOTICE. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) intends to award a cooperative agreement to the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) to hold community workshops focusing on outreach in the Louisiana pearlshell mussel focal area, including private landowners and citizens; county, state and federal agencies and other interested parties. These workshops are intended to build partnerships and to open the lines of communication between the various participants. The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) will also research the reproductive biology and microhabitat needs of the Louisiana pearlshell mussel to further develop species propagation and to understand the microhabitat characteristics that are important to the conservation of the species and its habitat.
