Description
This cooperative project will: synthesize information on the metabolic rates of free-ranging and captive large mammals— especially terrestrial species. This work may include collection of energetic and/or metabolic data from captive animals housed at zoological parks. Apply the information collected from Objective 1 towards the development of models that can be used to better understanding how differential responses to habitat change and anthropogenic disturbance may affect polar bear energetics.
