Description

The University of Arizona Water Resources Research Center (WRRC) will identify knowledge gaps and community water management concerns to enhance water management capacity in the region of Cobre Valley, AZ, located in the southern edge of the Salt River Basin, which encompasses several communities, including Globe, Miami, and Claypool. These efforts will contribute to the region’s ability to conserve water, increase efficiency, and increase the region’s resiliency to the impacts of drought. The objectives are to address two questions: (1) What is the water supply and demand that currently exists on water resources in Cobre Valley? (2) What are objectives and alternatives that can be identified to provide valuable and accurate resources to community members and decision-makers about their water resources in the region?
