Assistance Coordination

Description

The Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs, Office of Assistance Coordination (NEA/AC) and the United States Embassy in Tunisia, Assistance Unit, are seeking proposals from eligible applicants for a 2019 Tunisia Local Grants Program. This program aims to provide direct support to develop and promote innovative, locally-driven solutions to locally-identified problems, build and expand inclusive local networks, and help civil society organizations to represent the needs of citizens through collective action. U.S. Embassy Tunisia has identified two priority areas for which it seeks responsive applications: Voter Education and Entrepreneurship. The first objective of this Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) is to encourage citizens to vote in the presidential and legislative elections as well as to promote fair and transparent electoral practices. The second objective is to identify the best methods of arousing the entrepreneurial mindset in students for entrepreneurship build up with the ultimate goal of getting the students prepared for the demands of the private sector and a market-oriented economy, especially after they graduate from college or university.
