The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) is offering a cooperative agreement opportunity through Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Units (CESU) network to Texas A&M University (TAMU) to host meteorological datasets on the Gulf Of Mexico Coastal Ocean Observing System (GCOOS). The purpose of this study is to address distribution of large data files provided by BOEM air quality studies. BOEM needs the operators to perform air dispersion modeling, when required, using BOEM¿s 5 year meteorological dataset to determine whether there could be significant air quality impacts to an onshore area from proposed activities in a plan. This announcement describes a cooperative agreement with TAMU through the CESU network. The total amount of funding available to TAMU is not to exceed $30,000. Overall goal of this study is to host the BOEM¿s Gulf of Mexico OCS Region¿s 5-year meteorological dataset or its update for a maximum of 5 years on GCOOS. The public and stakeholders will benefit by having online access to some of the ¿Air Quality Modeling in the Gulf of Mexico Region¿ study (M14PC00007) data. TAMU is eligible to apply under this announcement. Collaboration between TAMU and GCOOS is encouraged.
