Description

The Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Consulate General in Kolkata (PAS Kolkata) in partnership with the Nexus Start-Up Incubator at the American Center in New Delhi seeks proposals for a project titled “Breaking the Glass Ceiling: Women’s Entrepreneurship as an Engine for Growth.” Promote U.S.-India Partnership by connecting female entrepreneurs with information and expertise that will empower women to become business people and leaders in their communities. This project is expected to advance this goal by: ● Promoting a spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship with a focus on women’s empowerment; ● Promoting U.S.-India partnership through exchange of information and expertise with a focus on entrepreneurship; and Creating women role models in order to encourage entrepreneurship as a first career choice among the youth population. Based on funding availability, the Recipient organization will implement a year-long project for 30-35 selected women entrepreneurs from east and northeast India in order to scale up their businesses, as well as promote women success stories in entrepreneurial fields traditionally dominated by men. The awardee should be able to select participants through a competitive process, provide mentor ship throughout the first online phase of training, and facilitate eligible participants through the second and third phases.
