Description

1. Determine the status and trends for 29 species under the same seasonal conditions. 2. Ascertain if abundance and diversity has declined relative to past work (Judziewicz 1996, Horky 2006, and Marr 2013) 3. Determine if any declines are similarly present in surrounding areas, and 4. Share information with cooperators and the public. This information will inform future management of these species. Information will be shared to increase public awareness; scientific community will gain new knowledge; project assists in understand of natural resources. This project will be the most comprehensive assessment of the status and diversity of 29 rare plants in the park since 1993. Fieldwork will include surveys at historic locations of rare plants to determine continued presence and diversity. A report will summarize changes in populations since that time and compare results to surrounding landscapes with similar species.
