This NOFO is intended to provide supplemental funding to organizations previously awarded through this NOFO, GH15-16190101SUPP19. Only current active recipients are able to apply for additional funding. Funding should be used to augment current activities. Funds must be expended before the end of the current budget period.Funding for this award is subject to change based on CDC budgets, priorities and emerging public health issues and outbreaks. Technical areas and activities approved for funding will be based on United States Government (USG) Global Health Security Agenda (GHSA) priorities. Projects may be funded out of rank order due to USG GHSA priorities and to avoid duplication of GHSA activities in other CDC funding mechanisms.he purpose of this program is to partner with 1. Established Global Network; 2. Established Regional Networks of public health training institutions in target regions (Sub- Saharan Africa and Asia/Western Pacific) to strengthen and sustain applied epidemiology and public health capacity in Field Epidemiology (laboratory) Training Programs. The long-term purpose of this NOFO is to improve surveillance, detection, response capability and health security across the globe.Recipients may apply to expand efforts under all strategies and activities within the scope of this NOFO, however, special consideration will be given to applicants for the following countries and activities listed.This program addresses the “Healthy People 2020” focus areas to improve public health and strengthen U.S. national security through global disease detection, response, prevention, and control strategies.
