Description

The National Food and Agricultural Sciences Teaching, Extension, and Research Awards (TERA) program is authorized in section 1417(i) of NARETPA (7 U.S.C. 3152(i)) amended by Section 7108 of P.L. 110-246. The Secretary of Agriculture, has delegated the authority to administer the program to NIFA. the annual (TERA) that honors excellence in College or University Teaching.The purpose of TERA award is to recognize and promote excellence in teaching, extension, and research in the food and agricultural sciences at a college or university. The Secretary is required to make at least 1 cash award in each fiscal year to a nominee selected by the Secretary for excellence in each of the areas of teaching, extension, and research of food and agricultural science at a college or university.
