Description

Note: Each funding opportunity description is a synopsis of information in the Federal Register application notice. For specific information about eligibility, please see the official application notice. The official version of this document is the document published in the Federal Register. Free Internet access to the official edition of the Federal Register and the Code of Federal Regulations is available on GPO Access at: http://www.access.gpo.gov/nara/index.html. Please review the official application notice for pre-application and application requirements, application submission information, performance measures, priorities and program contact information. For the addresses for obtaining and submitting an application, please refer to our Common Instructions for Applicants to Department of Education Discretionary Grant Programs, published in the Federal Register on February 13, 2019 (84 FR 3768), or at www.govinfo.gov/content/pkg/FR-2019-02-13/pdf/2019-02206.pdf. In order to afford eligible applicants the opportunity to apply, the Assistant Secretary for Elementary and Secondary Education reopens, for certain prospective eligible applicants, the FY 2019 Education Innovation and Research Early-phase competition, Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA) number 84.411C. The Assistant Secretary takes this action to allow more time for the preparation and submission of applications by prospective eligible applicants affected by the severe storms and flooding in parts of Iowa, Nebraska, and Alabama, as well as areas impacted by the Ironworks Fire in New Mexico, which have been designated for Individual Assistance or Public Assistance under Presidential major disaster or fire management assistance declarations under DR-4421, DR-4420, DR-4419, and FM-5281, respectively. On February 1, 2019, we published in the Federal Register (84 FR 1093) a notice inviting applications for new awards for FY 2019 for the Education Innovation and Research Early-phase competition (NIA). We are reopening this competition in order to allow certain eligible applicants more time to prepare and submit their applications. Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance Number 84.411C
