Description
The US Geological Survey, John Wesley Powell Center for Analysis and Synthesis, is offering a funding opportunity to conduct a synthesis of wetland flux data collected from 34 sites worldwide at daily to interannual timescales. The database developed from this synthesis will be used to parameterize and benchmark the performance of land-surface models of global methane emissions for informing and validating biogeochemical models. The results will also be used to characterize wetlands, reduce uncertainties in the role of wetlands in the global methane cycle, and provide metrics useful for safeguarding the many ecosystem services wetlands provide
