Description

The primary purposes of this program are to measure avian population responses to habitat management in accordance with: 1) Executive Order 13186 Responsibilities of Federal Agencies to Protect Migratory Birds; 2) Memorandum of Understanding Between the U.S. Department of Defense and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to Promote the Conservation of Migratory Birds; 3) The Sikes Act; and 4) Integrated Natural Resource Management Plans for each installation. Additionally, this program will help evaluate actions designed to minimize Bird Air Strike Hazard (BASH) near aircraft runways.
