CDC is committed to working with public health systems, hospitals, and healthcare providers to ensure that planners, developers, and implementers of public health initiatives possess the skills and resources needed to better address HIV in the U.S. and its territories. The purpose of this NOFO is to: Fund a national organization that represents state, local, and territorial HIV program staff to enhance the workforce and operational capacity to support integrated HIV programs; ensure strategic communication channels and partnerships are in place to advance national HIV prevention goals and contribute to ending the HIV epidemic in the U.S.; and facilitate policy analysis and interpretation, active communication and consultation between CDC, Division of HIV/AIDS Prevention (DHAP) and DHAP-funded health departments (HDs), community-based organizations (CBOs), and other entities. (Component A) Fund health departments with Ending the HIV Epidemic Phase 1 jurisdictions (see Additional Information on Eligibility section or visit https://files.hiv.gov/s3fs-public/Ending-the-HIV-Epidemic-Counties-and-Territories.pdf) to conduct a rapid planning process that engages the community, HIV planning bodies, HIV prevention and care providers, and other partners in aligning resources and activities to develop jurisdictional End the HIV Epidemic plans. This project will support health departments to conduct local collaborative planning for HIV prevention and care programming in alignment with the Ending the HIV Epidemic Initiative. Activities funded under this component will facilitate future implementation activities associated with Phase 1 of the Ending the HIV Epidemic Initiative. (Component B)
