A study of current flammable forest material due to, insect-induced tree and tall evergreen shrub mortality rates.

Description
This project between the National Park Service and Virginia Tech will measure changes to forest fuels following insect-induced tree mortality. The project will also assess changes to tall evergreen shrub cover. Information will be used by forest managers to improve estimates of fuel loading and fire behavior.
