Description

The USGS is offering a funding opportunity to a CESU partner for research to coproduce ecological forecasts for management of forest pest risk. The proposed research will engage researchers, land managers, and community stakeholders in the coproduction of knowledge on risks associated with pest outbreaks in Northeastern US forests. The research should identify actionable decision-points, and lead to the development of a scalable decision-support system with associated information products, including the application of phenological forecasts to hazard assessments for improved outbreak risk mitigation and management. The project should develop and test indicators of successful knowledge co-production for potential application to other USGS Risk projects.
