This announcement is to provide public notice of the National park Service's intention to award financial Assistance for project activity. This IS NOT A REQUEST FOR APPLICATIONS. Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) retains and operates electrical and gas infrastructure on National Park Service lands managed by Golden Gate National Recreation Area. PG&E infrastructure is located throughout GGNRA and includes gas, electric distribution and electric transmission facilities. GGNRA reviews, facilitates, and permits this work. In addition, PG&E work on NPS lands sometimes results in inadvertent damage to park resources which PG&E works with GGNRA to correct. This collaborative project will involve GGNPC and GGNRA working together to facilitate PG&E work on GGNRA lands and to perform habitat restoration activities to repair damage associated PG&E activities. Specific tasks GGNPC and GGNRA will collaborate on include cultural and natural resources review of PG&E projects as well as planning support of PG&E work including NEPA compliance. In addition, GGNPC and GGNRA will collaborate to conduct invasive plant management required to mitigate the impacts of ongoing PG&E operations and maintenance work on GGNRA lands. Finally, this project will facilitate collaboration on habitat restoration associated with PG&E damage to NPS resources including damage to the Baquiano Trail at Sweeney Ridge as well as resource damage in other areas of the park. This work will include native plant propagation, native plant installation, invasive plant removal, project management, monitoring, reporting, erosion control and other tasks as needed.
