Conservation of Pacific Lamprey in California
ArchivedFish and Wildlife Service
Description
Funds under this award are to be used to support the Pacific Lamprey Conservation Initiative, a National Fish Habitat Partnership, by implementing priority conservation measures identified in published implementation plans. Efforts funded by this agreement will promote conservation actions to alleviate issues that, in the past, initiated a petition to list Pacific Lamprey under the Endangered Species Act. Specific conservation measures will focus on evaluating passage obstacles, determining potential habitat and quantifying populations in California which are critical for conservation of the species. In addition, the cooperative agreement will provide support for outreach events to engage additional stakeholders in conservation of Pacific Lamprey.
