Description
Approximately 20 successful applicants will receive awards of $1,186,900. Through this announcement, the Job Corps Scholars Program will serve Job Corps eligible youth enrolled at selected community colleges, HBCUs and TCCUs. For students designated by the grantees as “Job Corps Scholars,” these educational institutions will provide free tuition for their first year in the Job Corps Scholars program, career technical training, and intensive personal and career counseling services to support and facilitate completion of the program. In addition, employment counseling services will be provided, including follow-up employment services. These projects will serve low income young adults between the ages of 16 to 24 who have at least one characteristic that is a barrier to education and employment listed in the FOA.
