Archived

Bureau of Ocean Energy Management

Description

The purpose of this study is to improve understanding of fishes’ response to commercial seismic surveys on the U.S. OCS. The major objective is to measure the potential changes in behavior of free-swimming adult fish when exposed to seismic airguns and record the duration of any behavioral change. Such behavioral changes may include changes in location, depth, and/or schooling, and the duration of any behavioral change. The results should be framed in terms of potential impacts to the fishery.
