Integrated HIV Care and Treatment Support Activity
ArchivedZimbabwe USAID-Harare
Description
The proposed activity feeds directly into the Development Objective, which aims to have an "increased number of Zimbabweans live longer and healthier lives." HIV/AIDS continues to be the leading cause of death in Zimbabwe with 20,000 AIDS-related deaths and 40,000 new infections reported in 2019 (HIV estimates 2019). The new activity will strengthen health systems in implementing districts to reduce new HIV infections and improve the quality of service provision and care for PLHIV. This will in turn avert HIV-related deaths and subsequently contribute to the objective of "longer and healthier lives" for Zimbabweans.
