National Institute of Corrections

Description

Through this cooperative agreement, NIC seeks to provide the corrections community with a leadership enhancement course focused on mid-level managers using a series of four to six, 90 to 120-minute virtual instructor-led training sessions in conjunction with individual pre-course leadership assessments, inter-session assignments, and personalized leadership enhancement plans. This program will develop, enhance and expand mid-level management leadership training and technical assistance for federal, state, local, and tribal correctional agencies.Based on NIC’s Captains’ Leadership Curriculum: Areas of Challenge and the Correctional Leadership Competencies for the 21st Century: Manager and Supervisor Levels publication, NIC envisions a leadership course designed around synchronous and asynchronous blended curriculum and developed with distinct advantages over in-person training programs. The curriculum and publication mentioned herein can be viewed at the following links (log-in required): https://info.nicic.gov/ca/
