The overarching goal of the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) is to support a broad-based Alcohol Research Centers program to foster and conduct interdisciplinary, collaborative research on alcoholism, alcohol use disorder and the impact of alcohol on health and disease.
