State, Local, Territorial, and Tribal (SLTT) Partnership Programs to Reduce Maternal Deaths due to Violence

Description
The Office on Women's Health announces the availability of funds for Fiscal Year (FY) 2021 cooperative agreements under the authority of section 1703(a) of the PHS Act (42 U.S.C. § 300u-2(a)), and section 229 of the PHS Act (42 U.S.C. § 237a). This notice solicits applications for state, local, territorial, and tribal (SLTT) partnership projects designed to identify and reduce deaths among pregnant and postpartum women due to violence. For the purposes of this Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO), violent maternal deaths are defined as maternal deaths due to homicide and suicide. Applicants receiving funding will be expected to: (1) Establish or expand programs that review, identify, and track maternal deaths due to violence; (2) Implement evidence-based interventions to improve outcomes and reduce deaths among pregnant and postpartum women due to violence; (3) Develop a sustainability plan for maintaining the program when the cooperative agreement award ends.
