Enhanced Systems Strengthening Interventions for Sustainable Laboratory Services Delivery for HIV, TB and Other Diseases of Public Health Importance in Nigeria under the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR)
ArchivedCenters for Disease Control - CGH
Description
The Award Ceiling for Year 1 is 0 (none). CDC anticipates an Approximate Total Fiscal Year Funding amount of $10,000,000 for Year 1, subject to the availability of funds. This NOFO seeks to support improved access and sustainable delivery of high-quality laboratory services for HIV, TB and other priority diseases, and the efficient use of a resilient network of public health laboratories for disease detection, outbreak response, and surveillance in Nigeria, through broad-based national Laboratory Systems Strengthening (LSS) initiatives. This NOFO will support strategic optimization of the laboratory network for enhanced service delivery for HIV viral load (VL), infant virological testing/early infant diagnosis (IVT/EID), HIV drug resistance (HIVDR), and TB and other priority diseases. The NOFO will also support efficient quality management systems (QMS); improved commodities supply chain management; laboratory equipment, biosafety and biosecurity management; and targeted capacity building for enhanced integrated disease surveillance (IDS) and use of laboratory data to inform patient care and public health decisions. Support also includes program management capacity building and facilitation of program leadership and ownership by host facilities; collaboration with multilateral and bilateral donors for coordinated program investment, quality oversight, and high-impact interventions; and technical assistance support for program coordination and sustainability. These investments will contribute directly to achieving the PEPFAR/Nigeria epidemic control and UNAIDS 95-95-95 goals.
