Description

This FOA seeks to support state-of-the-art Tissue Mapping Centers (TMCs) that will serve as the core data generators for the HuBMAP Consortium by generating a high-resolution, multi-parameter, 3D atlas of a non-diseased human organ. Successful centers will build, benchmark, and standardize pipelines for generating, validating and analyzing data from multiplexed, high-throughput imaging and omics technologies. Centers will be expected to integrate and optimize all parts of the data generation pipeline, from tissue collection and preservation through to data integration, analysis and interpretation in order to build high-resolution maps. Centers will use these maps to provide new insights into intra-, inter- and extra- cellular organizational features that influence tissue function, vary across individuals or that change across the lifespan. By the end of four years of funding, a successful center will have created a significant number of high-resolution, multi-scale, multi-dimensional molecular, cellular and morphological maps from multiple donors that are integrated into a published reference atlas for that organ.
