OJP is committed to advancing work that promotes civil rights and racial equity, increases access to justice, supports crime victims and individuals impacted by the justice system, strengthens community safety and protects the public from crime and evolving threats, and builds trust between law enforcement and the community. In general, victim-related information pertaining to mass violence and terrorism is largely anecdotal and inadequate to properly identify strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for improvement in serving victims of these incidents. This project will assess the incidents’ impacts on victims and their families, first responders, and the larger community. Statutory Authority: 34 U.S.C. §§ 20101(d)(5) and 20105(b)
