Description
Federal Transit Administration (FTA) announces the opportunity to apply for a total of up to $6.5 million for transit bus automation demonstration projects under the Public Transportation Innovation Program (49 U.S.C. § 5312 ). The notice seeks to fund demonstrations in two areas: (1) up to $5 million for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) for Transit Buses and (2) up to $1.5 million for Automated Transit Bus Maintenance and Yard Operations. Selected projects will demonstrate transit bus automation technologies in real-world settings. The demonstrations will help establish the feasibility of ADAS and Automated Transit Bus Maintenance and Yard Operations use cases and improve understanding of the impacts.
