Description
The US Geological Survey is offering a funding opportunity to a CESU partner for research in detecting and mapping wetland vegetation including Sagittaria lancifolia (a wetland plant) in Puerto Rico. This research will contribute to habitat predications and Gap Analysis of the endangered Llanero Coqui (Eleutherodactylus juanariveroi - a species of frog). Research and mapping of species and their habitat within the SAS Biogeographic Science group results in production of Gap Analysis products for the Nation. This research will contribute to methods development and analysis of wetland species in the US Carribean and specifically support management efforts for the endangered restoration of the endangered Llanero Coqui.
