NIMHD invites applications to support short-term exploratory or developmental research projects that have the potential to break new ground in the fields of health disparities and health access for all or extend previous discoveries toward new directions or applications that can directly contribute to improving health access for all and reducing health disparities in the U.S.

• Public housing authorities / Indian housing authorities

• Nonprofits without 501(c)(3) status (other than higher education)
• Private institutions of higher education
• For-profit organizations other than small businesses
• Small businesses
