This announcement reflects the high priority topics for research described in the NIH Office of AIDS Research FY2021-FY2025 Strategic Plan for HIV and HIV-Related Research https://www.oar.nih.gov/sites/default/files/NIH_StrategicPlan_FY2021-2025.pdf and research aspects included in the National HIV/AIDS Strategy (2022-2025) https://www.hiv.gov/federal-response/national-hiv-aids-strategy/national-hiv-aids-strategy-2022-2025 focused on ending the HIV epidemic among substance users (c.f. alcohol and drug).
