Description
The project seeks to support engagement with target / priority countries in, at, and around UN fora and events to support responsible, inclusive, and rights-respecting development, deployment, use, and governance of AI technologies. The project will seek to leverage existing work underway in the UN system and with partner countries, including but not limited to UNESCO’s Recommendation on the Ethics of AI, Readiness Assessment Methodology (RAM), and Ethical Impact Assessment (EIA); Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) initiatives such as B-Tech; International Telecommunication Union’s (ITU) AI for Good Global Summit; United Nations Development Programme’s (UNDP) readiness assessment initiative; and USAID’s activities on AI capacity building, including support for the Global Index on Responsible AI.
