Description

The Securing the Cities (STC) Initiative seeks to design and implement an architecture for coordinated and integrated preventative detection and interdiction of illicit radiological materials that may be used as a weapon (Radiation Dipersal Devises (RDD) or Improvised Nuclear Device (IND)) within a high risk urban area. DHS strongly encourages a regional approach to domestic nuclear and radiological detection to reduce risk to major urban areas. The effort covered by this announcement is focused on the New York City (NYC) region.
