Description

Eligible applicants are invited to compete for a 2008 Certification and Verification Grant. The Child Nutrition and Wic Reacuthorization Act (ACT) of 2004, P.L. 108-265 provides a one-time appropriation of $9 million to be used to assist States in implementing mandatory direct certification and verification of students' eligibility to receive free and reduced meal benefits in the school nutrition programs. The Food and Nutrition Service awarded $5.4 million of the available funding in fiscal years 2006 and 2007. Additional details may be obtained by viewing the announcement.
